Embarking on a Joint Journey: HBC Acquires Majority Stake in LTA

Hanseatic Broking Center (HBC) GmbH is acquiring a majority stake in Lifecard-Travel-Assistance (LTA) GmbH, based in Viernheim. LTA will further expand its successful positioning in the European travel insurance sector with the support of the HBC Group. Since 2005, the company has specialized in tailor-made travel insurance solutions and has established itself nationally and internationally as a reliable partner for intermediaries and customers. Following its successful market entry in Germany, expansion to Austria followed in 2008 and to the Netherlands in 2022.

“With HBC, we have found a strong, entrepreneurially-minded partner who shares our values and will accompany us on our next growth step. The shared focus on quality, customer orientation, and sustainable development was crucial for us,” says Petra Ulrich, Managing Partner of LTA.

Die operative Stärke der LTA basiert auf einem hohen Spezialisierungsgrad, persönlicher Kommunikation, einem hochmotivierten Team, digitalen Prozessen und einem klaren Fokus auf Kundenbedürfnisse.

“Through the partnership with HBC, we gain additional expertise and perspectives to further develop our systems and strengthen our offering in the international market.” HBC pursues a long-term growth strategy and brings extensive market experience through its holdings in successful brokerage firms and underwriting agents.

“LTA is an excellently positioned company with a strong team and impressive development,” says Hauke Martinsen, CEO of the HBC Group. “As majority shareholders, we are delighted to welcome LTA to HBC and jointly shape further growth in the European market.” With this acquisition, HBC strengthens its expertise in travel insurance and further expands its market position. Both partners see great opportunities in the collaboration – particularly through joint developments in IT infrastructure, risk carrier management, and product design.
